***TIME*** Contest - new entry & fab stamp!!

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 30, 2009, 6:41 AM

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour...

William Blake

This is one of my favourite quotes and it has inspired the theme of my latest contest...

Contest Theme

****TIME****

Make of it what you will, although the featuring of clocks, hourglasses/sandtimers, sundials, and similar time pieces in your work is prefered. It is NOT essential though. Any medium is accepted - manipulation, photography, traditional art, collage, poetry, literature, abstract, digital art, 3D, pixel art, jewellery, artisan crafts and sculpture.

Rules

Entries will be added to my journal as they are submitted. Please NOTE me with your entry. I would appreciate it if you would also mention that your work is an entry to the Time contest with its comments. I will accept NEW WORK ONLY and only one entry per artist.

Closing Date

You have plenty of time. The contest ends at the very end of the year. Midnight on 31st December 2009.

Prizes

First prize - a year's DA subscription.
Second prize - a 3 month DA subscription.
Third prize - a 1 month DA subscription.

My hubby and I are the only judges. We prefer to keep it simple. :)

Thank you so much to :iconcolt51: for making this fab stamp for the contest -

I'm sure that most people are aware of :iconcolt51: and the struggles of his son Sean, who was diagnosed with AML - Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Several wonderful people here on DA showed their support by creating 'Chip In' accounts to help with his medical bills. It now transpires that these same people are in unfortunate circumstances themselves and need similar support. Please read *colt51 journal entry for more information - [link] - about 'Chip In' accounts for :iconnitchwarmer: and :icontam2u:

The Winners of my Labyrinth Contest -

First prize - by :iconcreedofshadows:

First prize was chosen by me. The shear scale of it just blew me away!

Second prize - by :icondoubledowntandino:

Second prize was chosen by my husband. He said that he found it intriguing and interesting.

Third prize - by :icongraemeb:

Third prize was chosen by both of us. We were drawn to this one by its amazing attention to detail and the fact that we both love trees.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who entered! We loved all the entries and would have picked them all if we could!

Me and Photography...

I know very little about photography and use a rather cheap Vivitar with a wonky shutter. Basically, I point and click like a woman possessed and hope for the best. This suits me fine. Then, I like to try to turn the mundane into something magical with a slight tweaking of colour and light. Nothing major but enough to make it look a little otherworldly. Enough to make you believe that it could be another time, another place...another world...:)

Things I Especially lurve...

My husband, TOPIARY, anything magical, dreamy or enchanting. Hugging trees. Mazes and labyrinths of every and any kind, cats (especially tabby and grey ones), mirrors (not in a vain sense but playing around with reflections...creating mirror worlds!), nature, Red Dwarf (especially Rimmer!), birds, squirrels, hedgehogs, cute rodents like mice, rats and voles, toadstools, TREES!!!, forests, woods, old keys, old pocket watches, waterfalls & streams, Lara Croft, Twin Peaks, surreal and fantasy art and manips, Escher's Relativity, J.
